Simultaneous fermion and exciton condensations from a model Hamiltonian

چکیده

Fermion-exciton condensation in which both fermion-pair (i.e., superconductivity) and exciton condensations occur simultaneously a single coherent quantum state has recently been conjectured to exist. Here, we capture the fermion-exciton through model Hamiltonian that can recreate physics of this new class highly correlated phenomena. We demonstrate generates large-eigenvalue signatures for series states with increasing particle numbers. The results confirm dual-condensate wave function arises from entanglement functions, previously predicted thermodynamic limit. This Hamiltonian---generalizing well-known Hamiltonians either superconductivity or condensation---can explore wide variety behavior. It provides significant insights into required forces generating condensate, will likely be invaluable realizing such realistic materials applications superconductors excitonic materials.

Statistics of Exciton Emission in a Semiconductor Microcavity: Detuning and Exciton-Exciton Effects

We consider the interaction of quantum light with an ideal semiconductor microcavity. We investigate photon statistics in different conditions and the presence of detuning and exciton-exciton interaction. We show that in the resonant interaction and absence of the exciton-exciton interaction, the state of the whole system can be considered as   coherent state. According to our results, it turns...

A new fermion Hamiltonian for lattice gauge theory

Lattice gauge theory and chiral symmetry represent two venerable non-perturbative approaches in particle theory. Historically, however, they have not easily meshed. In particular, the old species doubling problem forces one to insert chiral symmetry breaking somewhere into the regulator. The issues involved are deeply entwined with anomalies [1]. Stimulated by the domain wall fermion idea of Ka...

Effects of fermion exchange on the polarization of exciton condensates.

Exchange interaction is responsible for the stability of elementary boson condensates with respect to momentum fragmentation. This remains true for composite bosons when single fermion exchanges are included but spin degrees of freedom are ignored. Here, we show that their inclusion can produce a spin fragmentation of the dark exciton condensate, i.e., an unpolarized condensate with an equal am...

Understanding the heavy fermion phenomenology from a microscopic model.

We solve the 3D periodic Anderson model using a two impurity cluster dynamical mean field theory. We obtain the temperature versus hybridization phase diagram. Approaching the quantum critical point (QCP) both the Néel and lattice Kondo temperatures decrease and they do not cross at the lowest temperature we reached. While strong ferromagnetic spin fluctuation on the Kondo side is observed, our...

The Quantum Double Model with Boundary: Condensations and Symmetries

Associated to every finite group, Kitaev has defined the quantum double model for every orientable surface without boundary. In this paper, we define boundaries for this model and characterize condensations; that is, we find all quasi-particle excitations (anyons) which disappear when they move to the boundary. We then consider two phases of the quantum double model corresponding to two groups ...
